Seasoned multinational Sustainability and Purpose expert, Jeremy Cohen, has joined Blurred as a Partner. He brings 20+ years of specialist skill to Blurred’s ESGP (environmental, social, governance & purpose) offering.

Jeremy’s career spans multinationals including Philips, Shell and SWIFT, as well as leadership roles in global comms consultancies, including Edelman, working in The Netherlands, France, Belgium, USA, UK and the across the Middle East.

During his most recent role – as Group Head of Responsible Business at National Grid, one of the world’s largest investor-owned energy companies – he was responsible for delivering the company’s global sustainability transformation.

Prior to National Grid, Jeremy was the Managing Director of Publicis-owned SalterBaxter, a specialist multinational Sustainability and Purpose consultancy. Before that he held the role of Global Practice Chair – for Edelman’s Business + Social Purpose practice, as well as being the Global Client Relationship Manager for Unilever, the Agency’s biggest client.

Jeremy is the second Partner hire Blurred has made since launching late 2018. In January 2020 it hired Matt Peacock, formally Group Corporate Affairs Director of Vodafone.

Last week Blurred formally launched its AAA ESGP consulting framework - Access, Address & Activate - as well as a new TCFD preparedness product. Jeremy will support in rolling out this approach to Blurred’s growing portfolio of clients including The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola European Partners, BT Group and Lidl.

Says Nik Govier, CEO + Founder of Blurred: “Jeremy joins us at a time of extraordinary growth, contributing an invaluable set of skills and experience which are perfectly suited to our unique ESGP positioning. We believe that before a company can prove that it does good (Purpose), it first needs to prove that it does no harm (ESG). Jeremy has spent his career helping businesses be better businesses, and like the rest of us at Blurred, this is fully reflected in his personal values.”

Says Jeremy Cohen: “We’ve already moved beyond the tipping point where sustainability and Purpose have become integrated with business strategy. As business looks to demonstrate that it can be a force for good in the economic reconstruction in the next phase of the pandemic, the need for an integrated strategic approach, coupled with an authentic creative expression, will be critical. In a short space of time, Blurred has repeatedly demonstrated that they are one of the very few consultancies that can actually help clients get this right, and so I’m thrilled to be joining the Blurred team.”

Jeremy is Blurred’s second hire of 2021. In January, it welcomed Phillipa Chikwedze as a Consultant. Phillipa joined from an in-house role at Discovery Inc.
